Surf n Link Sharing ...

A lot of interesting things (to me at least) crop up on news sites like Digg.com, Reddit.com and TechCrunch.com. I find myself sending lots of emails with links to these articles.

This is both a very manual process and also annoying to the people I email.

I have evaluated a few tools and the Google suite of products is standing out.

By viewing all sites via RSS and Google Reader I can quickly share and tag items that are interesting. I then put an RSS feed of those items on this blog. Its not the best interface but it works and is quick to set up.

This does not work for all cases though as one does not find all sites via an RSS feed and sometimes I am not sure if I want to share a site until after I have visited the site. I often open a number of sites in a row and then visit them later (sometime minutes, sometimes hours later) so I needed a way to easily share sites I visit. Going back into Google Reader to find the link is just not practical.

Enter Google Notebook. It seems to be better than Clipmarks in that you can clip just a URL, a link from the search history or just a paragraph. It opens much fast and you can create additional notebooks each with its own RSS feed.

Now for some better information parsing and display ... and maybe some browser history hacking.
